Thanks Gen Dread team for providing this important space.

I just wanted to share something that I found useful for me in regard to my own worries and frustrations with the complexities of human planetary overshoot. Learning about the 'levels of paradigm' from Carol Sanford and others who use this framework has totally opened up my understanding and has allowed me to direct my feelings and care into the realm of 'potential'.

This article is a good overview: https://carolsanford.medium.com/a-white-paper-on-regenerations-significance-part-2-the-four-modern-paradigms-ef306f622d1d

Put simply, doing less 'bad' has limited effect (ie: first wave environmentalism), and 'doing good' is inherently biased (eg: who defines 'good'?) and is ultimately a mechanistic theory of change (ie: believing that there is 'right' formula for change.. which unfortunately includes everything from genocide to wars to permaculture here), whereas in the 'evolve capacity' paradigm level one works toward 'potential' and health through a process of simultaneous personal and systemic development (ie: 'regenerative development': nestedly, nodally, interactively and field-energetically).

This levels of paradigm framework has allowed me to understand better where to prioritize my limited energy (in regard to human planetary overshoot in my local sphere of effectiveness), while growing and evolving my capability; and to focus this energy in the 'evolve capacity' level (.. and to operate now from this paradigm even when working in the lower paradigms.. which are also important in context! ie: as an analogy, if you scrape your knee, you should still take care of it and put a bandage on if needed :D )
