Resting now to make space for what’s next
We’ll be back in September with new personalized tools for turbulent times
Hi friends. I wanted to send along a little note that I’m going to take a pause from the newsletter in August for some down time and to move my family internationally (we’re heading back to my partner’s native land - Copenhagen, Denmark - and I am very excited to be back in a civic space where people prioritize climate action, where science is respected, and wealth-hoarding isn’t ruining society for others). I need space to metabolize my next moves in terms of how my work will respond to all the moral injuries of the day, and I also need a break from my jobs both at Stanford and Unthinkable, plain and simple. I’m not disappearing, just pausing and letting the noise settle so something grounded and useful starts to stir again. I will temporarily pause subscriber payments (and block new paid subscriptions) from Aug 1 - 30th and resume them only when I’m back in the saddle and creating new content for you.
Taking a break right now is also preparation for what’s ahead. I’ll be back in September with something exciting and special that my team and I have worked very hard on over the last many months to bring into the world: our new climate distress Resource Hub - a growing collection of tools, guides, peer support programs, climate-aware mental health care, contemplative practices, workshops & more, and especially - our new personalization tool that creates curated care packages for you based on your interests and needs. It’s designed to meet you wherever you are, whether you’re a disaster survivor, a first responder, a parent, a young person, a climate scientist, a teacher, or other type of interested soul. We’re here to help you navigate the inner dimensions of the polycrisis with your integrity, imagination, and sanity intact.
More on that soon!
Happy August, and wishing you some deep rest.
With love,
Britt
I wish I could join you. Sadly, I’m too poor to move out of the country on my own. And my neurodivergent mind pretty much guarantees no international employer is going to take me seriously.
I truly am stuck. And it’s already driven me insane.
Enjoy every minute of your time Dr Britt. By any measure it has been a difficult and disheartening 6 months.
I'm so glad to hear that you are taking positive action, against the harms and for you and your families better health and sanity. I hope many more will take inspiration from you.
Stay safe. Be well.
